Changes in the twenty-first century are faster and appear unexpectedly. They are not always necessary for the smooth functioning of the company. This is the domain of globalization, where new events – opportunities or threats are challenging the viability against which the questions are now all companies. More and more depends on the intangible assets of the undertaking, its strategic potential. Therefore Przedsiębiorsto creates and develops skills which then turns on competence. It is ond become the basis for competitiveness. The main determinant in this process is not only optimal, but the skillful management of intellectual capital. Its importance in recent years is constantly increasing, and the success of the market determines the joint commitment of all organizational units. Certain types of work require to the larger amount of knowledge, experience and independent thinking, and custom than others. For all employers, it is important to recognize these differences and create a new management principles ketegorią professionals who have knowledge useful for the enterprise – are knowledge workers. Therefore, the purpose of this article is an attempt to show management knowledge workers in modern companies, based on tests carried out in the years 2013 – 2015, in 100 large companies operating in the Baltic Sea Region
